I want to make sure that all who watch this video know I'm NOT taking credit for filming this video. It was shot by WB Video Proudctions (http://www.railfanvideo.com/catalog/vie wall.aspx). I have no intent of infrenging on somebodys copyright. I only wish to share these clips with fellow railfans who appreciate these shots for what they are.

Now that I've placed my disclasmer, here we go:

Here's the ski train heading up the front range fron Denver on it's way to Winter Park, Co

  • Awesome shot of the Ski Train comin in and out of those rugged rock tunnels;-)

Are these tracks still being used on day to day basis or have they been torn up and become a thing of the past????Ski train still running????Cant wait for more

  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the Moffat Tunnel line is still in operation and is owned by UP. Tennessee Pass is Not being used at this time but the track is still in place. As for the ski train, I have no idea.

  • Tennessee Pass is actually being used to store empty coal trains. The Moffat is alive and well, mostly for coal trains, though there are a few Denver to Salt Lake manifests (BNSF and UP) that use it as well. Amtrak still goes through Moffat Tunnel, and the ski train still runs, though it is it's own operation, independent of UP. It runs with ex-Amtrak F40's, and the whole train still wears the Rio Grande single stripe gold and sliver.

  • Good to hear. I was pretty sure the Moffat line was open but I didn't know about Tennessee Pass. I'd love to see some recent footage of all of it.
