This is how to remove the back piece of an iPhone 4.

PLEASE NOTE: This WILL void your Apple warranty!!! Only do this, if you know what you're doing, and remember, it voids your warranty. I am not responsible for you voiding your warranty. Remove the back cover at your own risk.

Step 1:
Remove the 2 tiny screws on the bottom of the iPhone (one screw on each side of charging port).

Step 2:
Gently slide the back housing up. It should slide about 1cm up, then pull it straight back, and it should easily come off the phone.

Now you should have full access to the battery, and motherboard.

If you're removing the battery, unplug the battery plug, on the lower left side of the battery, then pull the clear tab up, and also pry the battery (ONLY with your fingers), because the battery is usually glued down.

REMEMBER: When re-installing the back housing, DO NOT tighten the screws tight, or it could crack the back housing. Only tighten the screws until they're snug, and shouldn't fall out.
