Mainly because it follows verse/chorus pop structures for the most of the same and is way to overly consonant and safe sounding. It's basically heavy metal with a slightly extreme and depressive edge.It just is'nt stimulating,and too melodic without having any interesting melodic ideas. The Red In The Sky Is Ours is great because of how well thought out and challengeing it was, it also mixed very melodic sounding ideas like their later work in with less tonal harsh stuff.

but i dont agree at songwriting being boring

i love every little detail in the album

including the songwriting

That was pretty boring,needs to get some dissonance going,or some more interesting riff ideas.Melodeath had some much potential in it's beginning but after Slaughter Of The Soul came out the genre started getting terribly lame.
