In celebration of the 105th year of Rotary, and to boost
END POLIO NOW campaign, a fun run was held at Clark
Freeport Zone on 27 February 2010, by the joint
operation of District 3790 Clusters 3B and 3C and CDC
Team Clark.

As early as 5am, Rotarians and non-Rotarians, children
and adult, men and women, flocked in front of the Clark
Museum where the registration counter was set up for
run categories 2.3km, 5km, and 10km.

The Clark Development Corporation sponsored the venue,
the registration, stage, start/finish line facilities, the
security barriers and personnel, and the technical services
of its Team Clark headed by Atty. Jon Lacanlale as race
director. The bike-riding team of Spectrum led by incoming
Cluster 3B AG PP Alex Laguisma, escorted the
runners on their route. Other generous sponsors included
Asian Green Ville, N.T. Live, and Caelum Dev. & Const,
companies in Clark.

At 6am, competing participants for the 10km run (75%
non-Rotarians) shot on their way from the start line in front of
Clark Museum, around the parade ground, and to the hilly road
leading to the new Korean golf course. At 6:15am, the call
for the 5km was made; and at 6:30pm, the runners for 2.5km
took off. Most Rotarians participated in the last two courses.

The race event attracted participants as far as Manila. It was
not surprising to see more non-Rotarians who emerged as
winners. Cash prizes were seperately given to men, ladies
and children participating in each run category.

At an early Saturday morning of a perfect weather, It was a sight
to behold 341 men, women and children, solo or as family group,
running or just strolling, wearing the themes of the event: END
POLIO NOW, and RUN 105 to celebrate the 105th birthday of
Rotary.

Net proceeds of the race would be contributed to the PolioPlus
program of Rotary.
