Stop the World:Chapter 10

Nick's POV
"Great. Can't wait." she said. We started heading back towards our street. When we got to my house I let Elvis off his leash, and I led Mikayla into the music room. In there me and my bros have our collection of guitars, a drum set, and a piano. She sat on the couch we have in there, while I sat on the piano stool. I was about to start playing, but something didn't feel right. "Sit next to me." I said while patting the space next to me on the stool. "Won't I be in your way?" she asked. "No, I promise." ''Ok." then she sat next to me. Much better. Then I started playing.

I just let it flow out me. Towards the end of the song, I turned my head towards her to see what her expression was. She was watching my fingers on the keys. Then when the song ended, she looked up at me, and I saw a tear running down her cheek. I lifted up my hand from the piano keys, and I wiped the tear away with my thumb. My hand lingered there for a moment, then my head stared leaning towards her, she stared leaning towards me too. I closed my eyes...

Mikayla's POV
While Nick was playing the song I mostly watched his fingers on the keys. It was amazing how he could make something so beautiful. Once in awhile I would look up at his face, and just watched his facial expressions as he sang. I loved how he always got lost into a song. It was one of things I love about him. The lyrics got to me. I remember the day he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I was at home when I got a call from Kevin telling me Nick was in the hospital. I dropped whatever I was doing and went to go see him. It was really painful for me to see him in the hospital bed. But when I walked into the room he smiled, and I sat next to him and held his hand. That was when we were best friends. After Nick ended the song, I just looked up at him. He raised his hand and wiped off a tear I had on my cheek. I didn't even realize that I was crying. His hand lingered on my cheek, and then he started leaning towards me. I leaned towards him too. I closed my eyes and then the chorus to Smooth by Santana ft.Rob Thomas blarred from my pocket. I opened my eyes and grabbed my phone out of my pocket. The caller ID read TAYLOR L. I quickly answered it. "Hey, Taylor, I'm kinda in the middle of something right now. Can I call you back?" ''Sure talk to ya then." he said then I quickly hung up. "So...Umm...I gotta go see ya later. Thanks for playing the song, it’s beautiful." I quickly said then I stood up and ran out of the house, and ran back to my house.

Nick's POV
I should of ran after her, but my legs wouldn't move. After she was gone I pounded my fist on the piano keys. I'm such an idiot! I bet at this very second she calling back THAT GUY. Seems like right when something was going to happen between me and her he interrupts it. UGH. I put my face in my hands, trying to clam myself down. Then the chorus of Stevie Wonder's Superstitious blarred out my pocket. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and the caller ID came up with a picture of Miley her name under the picture. I answered it. "Hey, babe my dad is finally letting me out from hanging with my family can I come over?" she said. "Sure." "Ok see you in 10 minutes." she said then hung up.
