Also, WWE needs more shoot promos that actually mention other federations rather than makign the fans think WWE is the only wrestling federation out there. like when Miz insulted Bryan because Bryan performed in the ''independents'', I want more realistic promos like that. But you know how Vince is, his motto is ''All you promotions are nothing, I am the big dog in the house'', the guy put competition on the shelf and did nothing with it.

and to ant8five, ROH is the new ECW now, an indy promotion that had a lot of followers, tna is the ocean and wwe is the big overated ship that will continue to sink unless they make they're product better by doing less comedy segments with santino,focus on the cruiserweights rather then making them job, and expand the tag team division.

ECW saved Pro Wrestling, it made the business more free when it comes to backstage and creative writing, not to mention the wrestlers had a say in what happens rather than the creative writers being completely isolated. ECW was the first american wrestling promotion that let the fans say what they want without being kicked out, ECW was about freedom, not a dictatorship of who has the ball in the court. Now the smarks on the other hand, they knew too much for they're own good.

I think MMA's recent popularity is what's hurting pro wrestling. THAT'S why WWE's gone all PG. All of their older fans would rather watch REAL fighting than not-so-real-fighting with bad storylines that only kids can get into. Vince has been quoted saying that they made changes to accommodate for the shift in demographics.

Personally, I find wrestling today damn near un-watchable. I'm thankful that the old stuff's available on DVD. Well, I'm off to watch Heartbreak & Triumph...

@tripdefect87 ecw was just an indie promotion that got more attention then the others......thats all it ever was. it was a spec in the ocean. the wwe being the ocean, wcw was the big overated ship that would eventually go on to sink.

@voluMzor i still watch the old wwf to. i meant the grown ups that watch todays one. that grew up as kids through the late 80's and teens through the late 90's. they moan about todays product. well i say to them, they might not like it, BUT the next generation does, and thats what its all about, like it or not. a 27 year old back in 85 may of not liked the rock n wrestling, too bad. they were probably saying the same thing that the older fans are today. times change they gotta get over it.

Whats really killng wrestling is dumbass booking, terrible comedy skits and Wrestling being more about selling T-shirts and toys than putting out a decent wrestling program, that's the main reason why Cena is so stale and hated, WWE knows that his biggest fan base is kids and women, so he must remain a face and must win 95% of his matches to "send them home happy" this prevents Cena from turning heel or WWE talking big risk with new talent.
