Part 1 of 2 on soldering a small lidded stained glass box (Note: the parts I was using here were a leftover student project- try to have the *best* straight-cutting and grinding possible, to avoid the gaps you see in this example! :-) )

  • What is the surface you are soldering on, and what is the corner edge you are placing the box sides against? I have been using a ceramic tile to solder on, but it isn't really big enough.

  • It is a DIY jig: a piece of plywood with thin strips of wood attached at the corner in a right angle. We use these for setting up and for soldering projects. They are easy to make and can be made in any size. Hope that helps!
