The reason it's called "Big Yellow Taxi" it because it is a poem by Joni Mitchell. It is about how when she was on vacation in Hawaii, she opened her window and saw that the beautiful mountains and forests had been destroyed by D.D.T., a gas used to kill bugs, now illegal because it was found to be harmful to humans. D.D.T. killed all the trees in the process, and they put an enormous parking lot there.

I remember when this song came out.

ive been mad at my dad so many times....and hes been mad at me, but he only wanted the best for me,,,,he died of livercancer 3 weeks ago, no wi understand him...ur parents just want the best for you......dont forget that, cheris them, cus they might be gone in a sec,...it was 1.5 months for me when he really started breaking down physically, horrible to see.....i love him, i always will, and i know u all love ur parents as well, dont be ashamed to tell him that i wished i wuda 1000x peace
