Excerpt from Steven Verhelst's "Capriccio" performed by New York Philharmonic Bass Trombonist James Markey and the Columbus State University Trombone Ensemble. The excerpt is from Markey's recital which took place during his residency at CSU where he also recorded two pieces with the CSU Trombone Ensemble. The recording with Mr. Markey was the beginning of a multi-year project to include some of the finest trombonists in the US featured as soloists with the CSU Trombone Ensemble. The CSU Ensembles are under the direction of Dr. Bradley Palmer, and are part of the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. For more information about the trombone studio at CSU, including the recording project and guest artists, please visit http://music.ColumbusState.edu/trombone.
