So far, I have only had one successful attempt at making a fermented mash. That was in a 20 ounce bottle so I didnt get much alcohol from it. Now I am trying again.

  • i love the tube idea. i didnt want to wait to get an airlock so i used the tube idea. it is burping like crazy, in fact if i put too much water in the tube it blows the water out like a lil cannon lol. any more attempts recently?

  • @cableguy2006 I bought 3 home depot buckets and made some moonshine a couple of weeks ago. I bought a still column from milehidistilling. Got the packing and column for $200 and it clamps right on a beer keg. I made about 500 ml of high proof whiskey and gave it to some friends. They said it was pretty good compared to some other shine they had tried. Right now I'm making some homemade wine. I'm looking for some bigger barrels with open tops to make more whiskey. Thanks for commenting

  • Do you have to put the tube in and whAt do you use to seal the hole with?

  • @MILLYNWILL You just stick the tube through the hole about 1/2 an inch. If you make the hole slightly smaller than the tube then it seals it self.

  • you ever try to use grass clippings or even wood chips

  • @jeff420swinger Not yet. I want to do more experimenting with rice husks.

  • 5 minute waste of my life.

  • Thumbs up if you stopped the video to check on your cat.

  • You need to be carefull when you use things that have more starches than sugars. Nomatter what you ferment there will be some methanol being made. Be sure to dump your first cup to two cups of alcohol distilled at 40% alcohol from a 5 gallon container of mash. This contains mostly the methanol and other bad things produced from the yeast. Don't drink stuff made from wood or grass because it is mostly methanol. Be safe out there.

  • You've got a tiny kitten in the background mewling.

  • anyone know about "jailhouse juice", "trash can to'killa'ya" or "jailhouse jack" i guess you can use prison techniques to make alcohol fairly easy without the yeasts and sugars if your ever in a survival situation requiring alcohol. i believe brew skills could pose well in an economic disaster for various uses. fuels, antiseptics, disinfectants, drinky drinks, etc... research it yall

  • @pat1huey

pat you should put the mash in the dark while fermenting the yeast works better
