over 100 hits so far. no damage. i no longer use bronze wool devices. have had hho get past wool 4 times now and exploded bubbler. 1 in about 20 get past wool devices. in my opinion relief valves are much better and safer. ALWAYS HAVE BLAST SHIELD AND WEAR EYE, EAR, AND BODY PROTECTION WHEN TESTIN DEVICE. ALWAYS TEST PURCHASED DEVICES. OVER 50 % OF THEM DONT WORK 100% OF THE TIME. SAFETY FIRST

  • Very nice flashback valve. Looks like its doing its job. Looks like it would be easy to make and would stand a lot of abuse. Keep up the good work.

  • It definatly doesnt have the "cool looking factor" your does but like you say cheap and effective. Also easy for most to replicate. As a machinist myself my personal one will be very high tech looking like yours. I am just trying to find simple components anyone can replicate. Thanks for the comment.

  • outstanding ... nice simple design that works ... way to go !!!

  • I am a little suprised it handeled the high number of hits so well. It has zero damage. I did find that when using the torch the spring needs to be set so that 22-25 psi opens valve. (tested with compressed air not hho) with that spring pressure it has 50 hits on it and is real damn loud. still no damage. next is to tape paper near outlet and make sure the fire risk is low for under hood use. it will have encase around it but still want to check fire risk. gotta test it all. thanks ssc

  • that test was about 3 psi. I am now slowly tuning it up to see where it fails. Its a little nerve racking but necessary. Its at about 22psi now and pops quite loudly.
