There will always be whining from the rich when there is a tax increase. The highest marginal tax rate in this country was 70% as late as 1980. No matter how low you cut it, they will still complain about taxes. If they paid 5% and you wanted to raise it to 7%, they would still whine.  Nobody likes taxes; they are a necessary evil. The best thing is to ignore the barking and move forward.

@MrROTD I was not referring to corporations- just individuals. As far as "loopholes" are concerned, how much more of a loophole do you need than for those who didn't pay ANY taxes to get a REFUND?!

@jakesdoc your stats are way wrong, the highest earners don't pay because there's loopholes to protect them from paying. On the corporate side, Did you know that Exxon Mobile got money back in taxes? They are the most profitable American Oil company, why the fuck shouldn't they pay?

The really wealthy never pay because there's loopholes to protect them. Why do you protect those that don't need help and penalize the middle and lower income people that are struggling? Oh wait I forgot, thats because poor people can't afford to bribe (lobby) politicians. So real freedom is only for the wealthy.

Americans should use the current debts crisis to hunt down those richest who hacked our economy policies legally or illegally. Wikileakers started it from our millitary. Our general public should start it by building and using consumers protection's infrastructure for communities of this country. Our technology infrastructure are able to provide any single individual of this country proper housing, education, food, and health care. It's Republican old boys want to roll us back hundreds of years.
