  • Hi there Dan.

Good video, you've really simplified everything into short clip. Comments below are so very limited and as with all detractors, so negative; I wish people would be less literal with their interpretations. (92d is not acute, but 88 is...other way of looking at it ), (flatness: he didn't check with his file, he just flattened it;simple vid, showing technique).

    Thanks again Dan, nice shop!

  • last time i checked 92 degrees was OBTUSE and not acute to 90 or to ant degree below it!

  • @dougkon this is called draw filing..you actually get a smoother more uniform cut

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears as though your file is 'in-line' with your edge direction instead of 'against the grain'......meaning nothing is actually getting filed/sharpened. My edge tool only allows the file to be inserted in such a way as to be at a 45 going against the edge direction and resulting in the desired slivers/shavings coming off. Shouldn't your file actually be rotated 90 degrees so as to cut? Any comments welcome!

  • I just stopped watching at .35 seconds! Check ski flatness with a FILE? True bar only.

Files like he used are not strong enough to take base away. Get a base tool!

  • fat afggot

  • @heyfisherman usually u use a brass brush to remove some wax after you scrape and then you use a horsehair to polish it up

  • it's the same thing. you can call it 88, 92, or 2 degrees

  • so did i, i use 87-1 and 88-0 depending on the ski's, so i hope i'm right:)

  • amm 92? i thought that it should be around 87-89
