Robbie was our drumline instructor when I marched Bucs back in 1987. By the end of the season, every other corps was stealing our licks! A very memorable summer for me. Wish I could go back sometimes.

I don't think you can have a conversation about the greatest snare solos in DCI history without including this one. And what's great is that, if you want to have a conversation about the greatest over-all YEARS for snare solos, you'd have to mention this year, 1982. Mark Thurston, Mr. Robinson here and Nat Barouch all played solos that were roughly commensurate with each other's; and all three just absolutely SHREDDED.
I think you have to mention these guys when you have the "best ever" talk.

This is what I've been waiting for.

He was the master of his era. I saw his '81 solo (in some outdoor park in Montreal). Just fantastic.

To this day he's still the best and my greatest rudimental influence.

Finally.I've been waiting years to see this guy play.Simply awesome.Probably the best rolls I've ever heard. His stamina is mind boggling.
I have often looked back at those days and realized that the cast of characters in those Crossmen drum lines were really special. It was a special time going from the 70s into the 80s. Many a famous name marched and taught back then.
