  • I have often looked back at those days and realized that the cast of characters in those Crossmen drum lines were really special. It was a special time going from the 70s into the 80s. Many a famous name marched and taught back then.

  • Robbie was our drumline instructor when I marched Bucs back in 1987. By the end of the season, every other corps was stealing our licks! A very memorable summer for me. Wish I could go back sometimes.

  • I don't think you can have a conversation about the greatest snare solos in DCI history without including this one. And what's great is that, if you want to have a conversation about the greatest over-all YEARS for snare solos, you'd have to mention this year, 1982. Mark Thurston, Mr. Robinson here and Nat Barouch all played solos that were roughly commensurate with each other's; and all three just absolutely SHREDDED.

I think you have to mention these guys when you have the "best ever" talk.

  • Simply Amazing! Thanks for finding this!

  • @kietey14 Both.

  • This is what I've been waiting for.

  • He was the master of his era. I saw his '81 solo (in some outdoor park in Montreal). Just fantastic.

  • To this day he's still the best and my greatest rudimental influence.

  • outstanding!!!

  • Finally.I've been waiting years to see this guy play.Simply awesome.Probably the best rolls I've ever heard. His stamina is mind boggling.
