NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The legislative aide of Republican Senator Diane Black of Gallatin said she received a letter of reprimand for sending a racist email but will stay on the job, although some lawmakers now want her fired.

The email includes a photo that depicts all the presidents of the United States with President Barack Obama in the lower right corner as a pair of eyes peering out of a black background.

Sherri Goforth on Monday confirmed she sent the email and repeatedly apologized for sending it to the "wrong list."

  • Did you hear the one about the Jew, Black guy and an Asian flying with Hillary Clinton?

Well, I remember reading that from my email and I thought it was funny as hell. Oh, I see you people that are throwing stones have never sent or received any email as this..............you people that are throwing stones are a joke..........geeesh, get a grip and stand above it.

  • This is Tennessee. Firing her could cost Senator Black the Republican primary. (Says something about Senator Black & her Republican constituents!)

  • Republican mentality =KKK

  • This is why most African American are Democrats!.. Of course there are exceptions....

  • I think Diane Black needs to go.

  • It's kinda hard for black people to "get over it" whenwe are being reminded of what we were as in the past isn't to much different then today. No everybody views us that way, but some still do.

  • The non-apology apology and the fact that Senator Black didn't fire the bitch immediately speaks to the complete disconnect from reality within the Republican Party. While this incident will likely have little effect on Senator Black's career -- after all, this is rural Tennessee we are talking about -- it is yet another nail in the coffin of the Republican Party's national aspirations. Of late, it seems not a week goes by without another such nail being driven home. Idiots.

  • Leo, I think Doox was just surprised that the older black man was surprised at this, since that man experienced some of the worst times in history.

  • Doox, I think he wanted to believe things had improved during his lifetime, but as we see, as he saw, things are basically the same.

  • yeah...that makes sense.
