Volga Tragedy: Over 100 people missing as pleasure cruiser sinks in Russia

Tragedy in central Russia tonight - as more than a hundred people who on a river cruise in central Russia are feared to have drowned. Their boat sank on the River Volga in Tatarstan in just 3 minutes, with nearly 200 people on board. Some of those who were rescued and taken to a nearby ship have reached Kazan, clearly distressed at their ordeal. It's understood the boat sank within 3 minutes of getting into difficulty. Tonight, divers are battling in the dark waters of the Volga to find the many who have not yet been found. Sarah Firth is following developments for RT.

People, why are you so cruel? This is a great tragedy for all people of our city. There were ordinary people on board. They just wanted to spend their week-end with their children, friends and to see beautiful historical places. It was a usual trip, which we have every week-end in our city. There were no any polititions or other important people. Don't be so rude please, if you don't know anything about our country don't write stupide things.

For those who think this a perfect excuse for making jokes, the hell with you.

Most of the people who died were women and children. Only 10 children survived out of about 40, which died a horrific death all in one room.

Just because around 100 people died, does not mean it should be ignored.

If only you saw the reactions of loved ones and the death that people had to face, you would understand.

Were on earth have you got that from? People in Russia are not all the same. Ofcourse some show their emotions and some are polite. You cannot judge a whole nation in the same way. And a lot of people were russians.
