I shot this video from my patio on the southwest side of DeKalb, IL, on Friday, July 29, 2011. I thought the tornado siren must be a mistake because I'd just checked the radar, which was clear, and the sun was out. Surprise!
I don't know if this is a joke or not but they are not sounding a ALL CLEAR signal. The NWS propable issued a tornado warning and that's why the sirens are sounding.
Tornado over there and there sounding a ALL CLEAR tone, NO Alert actived- They my be testing the sirens... Then they wounder why the 911 system gets over loaded with people asking why the sirens are going off! LOL!
I was there and saw it live. It was fascinating.. lots of blue sky, seemed like it was roping out from the beginning, but at the same time powerful enough to do damage, but strangely not moving much at all, nor actually hitting the ground. Then, once it went back up.... you couldn't even tell where it was AT ALL... even though just 5 minutes later.. seemed like the clouds moved off and dissipated very rapidly.
that was a crazy friday

Nice! That's pretty much what I'd like to see, something not so 'dangerous'.
