yes, it is still the easiest and most cost effective way of obtaining gold, especially in dust form. Another way people do it, in Africa, is grind rocks into dust with a sort of large mortar and pestle and then use a pan and water to find gold dust.

I love sparkly rocks! I would get so excited to find them when I was a kid. Geodes are cool too, but there was just something special about sparkly rocks.

What can I say? I like rocks. That was just an extremely small part of my collection.

I once found a stream full of gold, but didn't have a pan to get it, so i told myself I would go back some day and pan the gold, But then there were some huge storms that came through and the stream was completely washed out, and there was nothing but a huge crevasse

Do people still pan for gold? It seems like such an inefficient way of getting it.
