I have AWA and NWA footage and they protrayed wrestling differently than McMahon. However, wrestling is unrealistic...I mean, a Piledriver would cripple a guy if it were "real."

@cmd1995 actually booking goes way back to the turn of the century carny days and became the main stay by the 1930's. also I say book instead of script because a lot of wrestling is a a lot more improv than a fixed script.a lot of wrestlers prefer to to get into the ring only knowing how the match is going to end making it up as the go. wwe back stage skits and interviews are heavily scripted but some companies work with more of an improv approach here as well

@Nacturl Well, in pro wrestling the 'real' aspect isn't about whose going to win or lose, the real aspect is who can put the most butts in seats (i.e., put on the best performance) b/c you usually get the highest pay. So there is a competition in wrestling, but not in the way marks think lol

These are always hard to watch. Wrestling isn't a movie. It's not boxing either. No one knows what the hell it is. But it's there

yes i know that everything is scripted.

but when it comes to the media if they hear Wrestling they will say WWE,

i'm not denying the fact that every promotion is scripted but, if i let's say made a wrestling fed a decided to make it real everyone would asume it's fake and why?

Lou is protecting the buisness. The reality is that all those promotions you mentioned have scripted outcomes the same as everything else. Kayfabe no longer exists, but it was still sacred here. I doubt Lou, rest his soul, would say any of this now. This was culture shock back in the day and nobody savy to the buisness knew how to properly react to Vince letting wrestling "out of the closet"
