As the story goes, Jesse Saunders used to play REMIX BY MACH "ON AND ON" as part of his DJ sets in the early 80's. His copy of that record was stolen one night and he decided to use the loop from that track to create the very first house record on his very own newly formed label Jes Say records. The catalogue number for this release would be JS999. The first 500 copies were pressed with a black label with white text. The subsequent presses had a white label with black text. Jesse Saunders' version is regarded by many as being the first recorded house release. A genuine piece of Chicago House history from way back in 1984.

@ElectronicMusicUK Thanks for 'insight' into what house is, and your blinkered view that the producers have to be the end users. When you create something new, you are the first, there is no fan base. Chicago house is also waaay after the fact. Kraftwerk is not house, it is pure electronica. It lacks soul, which is a key element of house.
