Nihang Niddar Singh [9th Gurdev of the Akali Baba Darbara Singh Akhara] demonstrates the art of Loh Mushti, a facet of the battlefield combat art Sanatan Shastarvidiya. These videos are for education
My father told me once, when i was in school, that the Sikh have a little Pakhtoonwali in them and that they r brave...I am feeling really happy to see the martial arts techniques showed in the video.Sikh practicing fighting, in times of peace, z motivating ...Our ppl love brave enemies ....
as a marital artist my self.. i practice budo taijutsu.. i really enjoyed this video and it's concepts. i have never herd of this art till now. the man in the video demonstrates it perfectly, nothing big just what works, moving with the body etc... great video, nice to see teachers out there keeping it simple, deadly, n safe.
I absolutely have nothing but pride to know that my Sikh heritage has such a refined and cultivated martial art. To know that it is also a internal system of combat also makes me happy. With this realization I am sure that the art has a pugilistic nature or a way to endure punishment while issuing it. The illusive rollbacks while moving towards the opponent and shoulder rolls with side-stepping footwork shows a style that is aggressive to engage while defensive. Stillness and then motion, wow.
I appreciate the incorporation of cultural aspects into the explanation of the style. It is interesting to note the similarities between this sytle and tai chi. Excellent video ... thank you for posting.
