I once dropped my Canon EOS7D on the ground...except a few scratches on the lens hood and battey grip, both the camera and lens (24mm f1.4) were fine.
You should get a Canon!

did you take a lunchbreak or are you stupid enough to not be around when you have your camera on your tripod...lesson always stay 3 feet or one meter away from the camera don't expect the tripod to be a security of not failing badly

@TheChill0ut well obviously i was too far from the tripod - it was more or less in reach but i looked to the other side and realized it to late... anyway this lesson was learned - i would say never take the hand of the tripod outdoors. :(
