Bella eating in her chair

This is our cute dog Bella. She was diagnosed with congenital megaesophagus soon after we found her at 4 months old. Megaesophagus means that her esophagus is enlarged and lacks the muscle mobility to swallow food while horizontal. This is her "Baileys Chair," which she needs sit in while eating and for 10 minutes after she eats. She eats soft dog food with a little water mixed in. She is now seven months old and doing great!

Nice to see that she learned to eating from her chair and handle it quickly.

Hey @MegaBella917 I have a min dachshund (Issy) who has just be diagnosed with megaesophagus, Im going to have to buy/make her a bailey chair too. Today was day one its hard because shes is 2 1/2 years old now and doesn't know where her food and water bowels have gone. Do you have and advise living with a dog with megaesophagus?? Someone put this on fb, but without the explanation, saying it was funny. My reaction was, "how cruel. Bloody idiots" 40 years experience with dogs & I'd never heard of this. Luckily someone sensible put a link to your vid in, which explains all.

How do you keep her occupied for 10 minutes after she has eaten in that thing??

When she had finished eating, I was waiting for her to pick her bowl up, chuck it and throw open the top :) xx

To the complete dickheads on this site saying `cute` or that's `adorable have no clue on animal welfare, dogs have four legs for a reason, and that reason is the fact that if they stand on their hind legs it damages their joints causing arthritis and are more vulnerable to disease! I find it disgusting and some of the comments make it worse as some of you people obviously no nothing about how a dog should be treated, to me this video is showing an act of animal cruelty through kindness.
