If the design is too long or too short, you'll have to edit the design in software. The diamond design was easily edited by deleting or adding more diamonds. You may find sizing the design is the only way to make it fit. I usually start my embroidery in the center of one side. Minute adjustments can be made at the corners if necessary. Stitch one design, reposition the template, reposition the fabric and stitch. Continue in this fashion all the way around the napkin.

Successful continuous embroidery is all in the planning! Print templates of the embroidery designs and place them on the fabric (item) to make sure they will fit. This will also tell you how many repeats will be required to fit the space. Adjust as needed with the templates.

Do you do anything differently for matching the design to go around the corners? What if the crossways design is too long or too short to meet properly between the two sides. Do you recommend working your way all the way around (side, top, side, bottom)? Or is it better to do the two opposite sides and then the top and bottom? I would love to be able to sit down and do this technique successfully. Thanks for the video.
