An alternate way to play track and field arcade and run a 7.19 100m. My camera sucks!

  • @orangefunk I'll have to PM you, not enough characters to explain in "comments".

  • @orangefunk Yep!

  • @orangefunk Yeah they converted a lot of the machines to joystick, trackball, and microswitch back in the day. They did this to prevent the unskilled players from constantly breaking the leaf contacts by pounding the hell out of the game with their fist. Joystick and trackball versions make the game way to easy. The number of rounds, qualifying marks, and extra lives ect... can be set by flipping the dip switches on the boards inside the cabinet.

  • @NeoAlexandria777 .. oh and another comment :-) I recall seeing T&F machines here in the UK that had joysticks (side to side movement) and only allowed one pass through the events before it ended.. not sure if it was a Konami mod or a 3rd party copy...

  • @NeoAlexandria777 btw.. whats the cheat on the 110m hurdles allowing a 2.x time?

  • @NeoAlexandria777 hehe... yeah I'm up there with ya bud... still nothing like these old arcade games eh? We're lucky to have grown up thru that golden era..

  • @orangefunk Hey I'm almost 45, so I know the feeling.

  • @NeoAlexandria777 Thanks man...

Yeah I guess the 6.9 could have been the time... its been quite a while and the old grey matter isn't what it was.

  • @orangefunk Well man I played in Japan at the World Championships back in 1984. I've about seen it all now. as I have been playing the game for 26yrs. There is a reason you are having a hard time going sub 7sec in MAME. The time of 6.92 or 6.94 is considered a perfect run in MAME.
