Oh Yeah! Haddaway! Man, I loved this song since the first moment I heard it back when I was in High School in '93. Everybody wanted to dance to it and everybody loved that Eurodance beat. Well, I'm old enough to say that I was around to live through this little piece of history. Then Will Ferrell and the "Roxbury Guys" came along and this song was made fun of, over played and any trace of respect for it was lost, but I still love it and every single time we play it live with my band, people seem to let go and they go crazy! Take a listen and if you can, use ear phones, so you can hear the little nuances of the Leslie Rotary Speaker effect that I love to use in Stereo. Pretty much all the song was played with the Leslie in "Corale" speed but during the bridge I used the "Tremolo" speed and boy, do I love how it sounds!
Now, the gear:
Rhytha (my Airline Town and Country Dlx by Eastwood guitars) through an Ibanez Tube King through an Electro Harmonix Hum Debugger and then to a Digitech EX-7 (Leslie Rotary emulator effect) that splits my signal in Stereo mode. The left channel goes to a Boss DD7 Delay and a hot-rodded Epiphone Valve Jr. Head with its matching Cabinet. The Right channel goes to a Fender Deluxe Reverb in the tremolo channel with the amp's reverb at 4.

NOW, I KNOW IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE TO REFRAIN FROM REQUESTING TABS, BUT SORRY, I HAVE NO TABS, I LEARNED THIS SONG BY EAR AND ALL THE ARRANGEMENTS TO THE SONG WERE DONE ON THE FLY, SO, PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR TABS.
THE CHORD PROGRESSION FOR THIS SONG IS
Gm, Bb, Dm7, F (I PLAY IT ALL IN POWER CHORDS, THOUGH)
SO, THERE IT IS, ARRANGE IT THE WAY YOU LIKE AND HAVE FUN PLAYING IT.
Dude :( ouch... poor haddaway

hi! Q about the ex7:
im thinking about buying it. is it possible to have only the expression-effect and only the distortion effect on? can i engage them seperately?
ValveReactor 1 year ago
You can select the Expression effect only with no distortion, but unfortunately, the distortions are not selectable on their own. Distortions are always tied to an expression effect. The trick that you could use is if you select Expression model 7, which is a jet flanger and select the distortion of your choice. You can download the manual from the digitech website. The manual is a lot better a explaining this stuff. Check it out.
