The Education Abroad Network study abroad program in China offers a 5-day Orientation program in Beijing. This video provides an overview of the program for students on our China study abroad programs.

From the Great Wall snaking its way through the countryside to the exotic structures of glass and concrete that make up the modern skyline, China unveils its ancient traditions to the patient visitor. Spend a semester abroad in China wandering hidden hutongs in Beijing or marveling at the majesty of Shanghai's Bund. Prepare to slurp noodles with the locals, delight eager schoolchildren with a simple "hello," and even impress yourself with adventurous culinary experiences. With a population of 1.3 billion people, China is bound to be home to a kindred spirit to share a cup of tea.

  • I personally traveled to Australia on my study abroad experience but after seeing this video I would love to give Beijing a try at some point. I would like to travel the world in general but the sights here seem to be well worth the travel!

  • An Alumni of the Fall 2010 Semester of Shanghai China Student...all i have to say is that the week of the Orientation was the one of the best weeks i ever had . The things we have done with the program was unforgettable in my life time...ESP. the great wall sunrise activity!!! Very Very Interesting and meaningful week of orientation... and also looking good there Russ!!!

  • Russ! Fabulous video! I recently came back from studying abroad in Shanghai, China and had the privilege to partake in this awesome China 5-day Orientation. I definitely feel this is a major highlight in my experience abroad. You are not just thrown into the program empty-handed. You are given a lot of opportunities to assimilate into the culture and take in the rich history, weeks before classes begin. It is a smooth transition and one the program does an excellent job with. GO TEAN!! :D

  • what is the name of the song? :)

  • lol, looks cool, a friend of mine went to beijing for the 2009 karate world championship.
