Broadcast to the American people from the Oval Office. Reagan mentions two triumphs from his presidency: the economic recovery and the recovery of American morale. He discusses America's changing relations with the Soviet Union and shares his regret for the deficit that deepened during his time in office. He concludes by addressing America's sense of patriotism and refers to the nation as "a shining city on a hill."

  • i would have him as 1 of the best president he motivated people to love there country and of others of all backgrounds we are going into more anger and hating other racist said that looks like we are going backwards then forward

  • @bjggjb if Oliver north was allowed to do his job mr Bin Laden would have died long before setting up the take down of the world trade center or even the first bombing in the garage. so I disagree with you. and you are clearly not informed about our countries true history. sad fact that most aren't and that's why we are here in this crisis. President Reagan said in his inaugural address, that “government is the problem not the solution.”

  • Why do so many people consider this senile old dotard to be our greatest president? He was a good speaker (with his cue cards anyway) and had a aw-shucks demeanor, and that's about it. I'll never forget how he kept answering "I forgot" and "I don't remember" during the Iran-Contra hearings. He was like a sock puppet, with shady behind-the-scenes characters running the show (Oliver North comes to mind, with his martial-law plans.)

The mess we're in today, is largely an end result of his policies.

  • we have a great person here president Reagan, thank you.

  • He seems to grow bigger in the heart of America as every day goes by. He is truly great man

  • @TheUncleDougger LOL, I understand that you don´t want people who question your "great leaders". And wtf, hide behind my keyboard? LMAO

  • @TheGrindsprint We are glad you were not born in the USA either. Stay home and generate your witless garbage while you hide behind your keyboard. You are welcome.

  • Ronald Reagan THE LAST REAL PRESIDENT of the United States

  • 25 years ago Ronald Reagan made the biggest mistake any President has ever made in our countires history. Most Republicans and conservatives think Ronald Reagan was the best President in modern times. I think he was the worst and made the biggest mistake of any President.

25 years ago Reagan gave amnesty to 3 million illegal aliens. Those 3 million have turned into a nightmare for our kid's and grandkids. For everything he did, he ruied it all with that one mistake. Epic Fail as President!

  • @ledawg1138 haha good point :) But still I´d uncomfortable with the idea of a president sitting down in front of a camera doing his best to indoctrinate me, and trying to persuade me that his view is right. It´s kinda patronizing. Now I don´t know if they still do that. I heard something about Obama adressing the kids, but I don´t know if that was on political issues. But I have seen an old one where reagan had this long monologue about healthcare, using really weird rhetoric
