"PARAISO"

Music and Lyrics: Ryan Cayabyab
Performed by: Smokey Mountain

A ravaged childhood in a ravaged land, a paradise lost. Amidst the refuse of civilization, children strive to eke out some space to play, to make a living, to survive for yet another day. Yet their needs are simple—breathable air, some sort of shelter, and meager sustenance. Clean water for daily baths, good medical care, and decent education are nothing more than a gleam in somebody's fantasy.

Even in the midst of such environmental decay, the children see some signs of hope— birds flying where no birds dared to be.

And the children call out to anybody who cares to listen: "Help us make a stand! Make this paradise lost paradise regained."

  • kapag walang gutom.......yon ang tunay na paraiso.

  • PARAISO., exists everywhere.,

anywhere, anyone can have their own paraiso., it is on the persons appreciation on every single thing around him/her.,

for those people who lives on a dump areas, their paraiso is where they can find food, shelter and other things they need for living...

I really love this song., it somehow touches my heart and makes me understand the essence of appreciation of my life., a persons life., and to everything I have and to every single things around me...

  • it is paraiso for them who never had anything, who never had decent home and clothes. it is a paraiso for those children who doesn't have the choice but to live in those dump area. it is paraiso for them who the only chance for survival is that dump area who shelters them and provide them food by collecting garbages.

  • for now there is no paraiso.. but i believe that if us, rich and poor alike, would join hands in making a better Philippines, the PARAISO that we see in our dreams could be a reality.. these children are most affected.. if only people hear their cries..

  • i agree that there's no such thing as paraiso..it just depends on how we look at something, its paraiso if we consider it as one even if its the ugliest thing..but then, this kids rili nid our help.. :)

  • for most of us, this is definitely no paradise... but for them who call this place "home", it may be a different story altogether... and let's try not to call on anybody else to do something about this... whatever little thing we can do counts... and that will be more than realistic, and helpful...
