Lord of the Flies Rap (read description)

A rap I made back in early 2009 for an English project
I chose to do this instead of a research paper
I was the only one who did
I got the highest grade

Lyrics:
well you know i aint a lefty you can bet this song's right,
it's about a plane with kids being shot at mid-flight
so the plane goes down, and on the island leaves a scar,
the kids are lost, and don't know where they are
ralph and piggy are the first ones that we meet,
and theyre taking a walk along the islands sandy beach

they come across a conch, and blow it to make a sound
little did they know, kids would come from all around
theres robert, roger, jack, samneric, and simon
and they all want to know how to get off the island
so the kids have a vote, and decide to make ralph chief
an action that jack, doesnt like in the least

so he and his choir, they make themselves hunters
and set out to explore the island, and its wonders
a way to escape is what Ralph envisions,
but kids just want fun without adult supervision
but ralph tells them, that they need some sort of sign
in order to be rescued, and return to humankind

CHORUS:
there's no one, to come and save them
from the island
no escaping, the Lord of the Flies

the conch is what the powerhungry kids seem to desire,
they want to escape, but can't maintain the fire
so instead they go to hunt, cuz they all want meat,
and then a power struggle for who they want as chief
later on that night, ralph calls a meeting
and the island salutes them, with a terrible greeting

so now all of the kids, believe that there's a beast,
and it lives up in the mountains, to the island's east
and on the next day, some of them go explore,
theyre walking in the forest, when ralph sees a boar
its on the pig trail, and running about,
then ralph throws his spear, and hits him in the snout


after a while, the kids go back to the shore
they go telling piggy about the beast and more,
then jack gets upset, and puts ralph under scrutiny
he calls for a vote, and tries to mutiny
but the rest of the kids, they wont have it
jack had his chance but he failed to grab it

CHORUS

so jack leaves the tribe, and starts his own
but piggy doesnt care and says, leave him alone
others soon join jack, and his malicious crew
they say that he'll give them shelter, and provide them with food
they go and hunt a pig, to have a feast
and then after that they want to hunt the beast


during all of this, simon's nowhere to be found
he's somewhere in the jungle, looking around,
he wants to find the beast, and see what it really is,
and he finally sees: a dead parachutist
simon also sees the head, that jack left on a stick
and all of a sudden, he's speaking to it

and the pig on a stick said he's never gonna leave,
simon tries to tell the others, but the boys are deceived
the beast thing says not to go and squeal,
don't go tell the others, that the beast isn't real
but simon climbs down, the mountain side
and he sees the smoke, coming from jack's tribe

CHORUS

they think simon's the threat and they bash him in,
they commited homicide, a horrible a sin
Ralph and Piggy are like "oh no",
and they both wonder who's the next to go

the next day Ralph and Jack, get into a clash,
while roger tips over a boulder, and, SMASH...
no more piggy, piggy's gone,
along with order, and the beloved conch
ralph is now alone in his defense,
for the death of piggy symbolized the death of common sense

so Ralph tries to hide but is smoked out by the fire,
then he's surprised to see a man in naval attire
so the kids are rescued and going home at last,
but ralph will never, forget the friend of the past
for piggy was a true friend, ralph just couldn't see,
its is a story by william golding, and his theory of evil capacity
