I think they take Bob Dylan's version and give it new meaning through cutting out and changing certain verses, as well as playing it in the innocent-yet-somber style of Craig Minnowa and, indeed, Cloud Cult.

The original has more of a 'lost, but with hope'. This version seems to have more of a 'recovering from trauma' vibe. Bob Dylan's version seems to be more about coping, whereas Cloud Cult's seems to be more about escaping...

Or perhaps I'm just speaking out of my ass. Who knows?

@TheGothiccrap Well, Bob Dylan wrote it and sang it first so his "version" would really be the "original", whereas this is a cover/arrangement so is a different interpretation. Nothing wrong with saying you prefer the original of course as everyone has their own preferences =)
