Part 12 is the poigniant final duet between Gilda and Rigoletto. Jose Collado conducts the Rigoletto of John Rawnsley as he desperately tries to save the Gilda of Patricia Wise. Alfredo Kraus is heard in the background.

I have always been of the opinion that "Chi sa ben parlare, sa ben cantare." English speakers from England, for the most part,

speak beautifully in the masque, which translates into their singing. Now: I find this singer to have wonderful "placement," a term I dislike using. However, it is not a refined, beautiful instrument, round and smooth. Rather it is sort of rough and edgy to my trained ear.
