Only the little cells are not batteries. Most everything else we call "batteries" are in fact batteries such as car batteries.

That's what I do! The batteries that 'die' in the camera I shove into the remote and they last for weeks!

You want savings? Go to Giant Tiger and by packs of 48 batteries for 5 bucks.

We keep our batteries in the refrigerator. This a bad thing? Probably not, since it's for storage. . . .

Please take a few extra moment to do your research. Cold is for STORAGE, to keep the reaction of the acid and the metal from happening yet... Warming speed up the reaction for when it's almost completely dead and... you.. just need to take that picture of your cat.... the heat increases the reaction of the chemicals, thus making more power
