Music Box Paige ZLazr.com.MOD

This is a Custom Mechanical Music Box available from Zlazr.com. Laser Cut and Laser engraved mechanical self-winding music box created for Paige who is 3 yrs old. All the pieces, the sides and the top and bottom were designed on the computer and then laser cut and laser engraved using very specific settings. My friend Gary, who I designed this for, sat down with me and with some input about his niece Paige, I came up with the overall box size and design elements.

Another nice thing about this project is that it was made and designed in the USA! I did not use any glue. The the pieces are just dovetailed and with just a little pressure, they just snap together. If the cuts are too big, the pieces break and if the cuts are too small, the pieces fall apart. We have made many other custom laser pieces from acylics to woods like this one and some of our stuff is on our web site, ZLazr.com. There are so many things I have created, but I never have the time to upload photos or videos. One day I will show you everything. I would love any ideas, suggestions to improve the design or any comments. I always feel I can make anything, so give me a challange!

This music box project was a very fun project and I plan on making many more. I think this will make a very thoughtful gift and a long lasting heirloom. The little girl whom I am making this for is very young, but later as she gets older I am sure she will appreciate all the work involved in her music box gift and will always remember her Uncle Gary.
