@quizmaster85 Oh I just found out what it is! "Email Limited" was the name of an appliance company in Australia! "Email" was an acronym-- it had nothing to do with what we think of as email today!! LOL!

Interestingly, the exact same footy ad that appears at 2:13 also appeared in the Ch 7 doco about their history of football coverage 'Heart of the Game' back in 2001
Also from that ad, presuming it's talking about the 2nd week of the finals, it can be presumed this footage was from Sep 7-13 1974.

The musical "stinger" at 3:01 was previously used by ABC [American Broadcasting Company] Television in the United States from the mid-1960's to about the early 1970's.

Thanks for these fantastic uploads, I will have to organise another trade with you soon, this is awesome stuff!!! Those pop performances from the Paul Hogan Show Johnny Farnham, William Shakespeare n others I have in colour as the show was taped to quad in colour n they look brilliant!!!

There is no better way of capturing the past other than continuous television video recordings featuring original commercials, logos, news breaks, and programs. If you desire to travel back in time to 1974, it doesn't get any better than this. This HSV7 TV video recording (and many others) is our best window to the past.

David Johnston has had an illustrious radio and TV news career from what I can tell. He's still going at channel 7. I have lived in NSW all my life, yet the Victorian-based presenter is still a familiar face.
