Described by the Boston Globe as "Thrilling" "Brilliant" and "Intrepid", this concert footage comes from Boston's self-conducted chamber orchestra, A FAR CRY's 2009-10 season opener, "The Lunatic" at the inimitable Jordan Hall inside New England Conservatory. The Austrian violin virtuoso, Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber's (1644-1704) "Battle Music" is a masterpiece depicting scenes of battle drums, drunken soldiers, blasting canons, the wounded and the dying...Riveting, elegant, poignant, and so refreshingly modern in some dissonances, Charles Ives would haven been floored at its first hearing. Guest harpsichordist, Andrus Madsen joins the Criers on stage. Filmed live on October 30th, 2009 & edited by Simon C. Yue for A Far Cry.
