AWESOME DISPLAY... i remember back in the day, when the 148f was the first 40 channle mobile with a freq display...me and my bud would open the radios we had up and put these colored caps over the lights display, and it would bleed through good enough so you could still see the numbers on the meter..of course i did my uniden grant a blue cap and named it, the blue light special, and later added a d104 minute man 2, a k tone beep (dee dee dee) a connex echoboard and 5 ft skipshooter .

Your antenna absolutely will not due.  Learn about building a "dipole antenna" and be sure to check your SWR.

Nice radio, I got mine a few days ago, But only using a Sirio ML 145 MAG antenna, indoors, when i use the antenna on my Uniden scanner I can hear people on UK FM CB, but when using same antenna with SS 3900EFT there is only static there. I tested it with my Midland handy, I was right beside it and the signal was only a 9+ is there anyway to turn up the RF Gain on the inside of this radio?. If so, what is the VR number? It's not pulling in signals unless they are really close to me.

and now the whole truth ... compared to the Euro 8001S alana this radio is crap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not recommend !!!!!!

@golfirmkIII I welcome Alan 8001S Euro 3900EFT now I have the SS and I will say that the more I'm happy with the SS was hardly any noise filters its own beauty and not a good transmitter operates in the frequency of the most recommended! 73, Polish greet
