no good for giving definitions unless you know Japanese. I can copy kanji if I see it, but when I put it in this dictionary, it gives me the definition in Hiragana
This is a JAPANESE/English dictionary, meant its made for Japanese. It wont say any of the words in Japanese which would be a lot more useful than the English pronunciation.
Is there one avail that is a true English to Japanese dictionary? BTW, this same dictionary was included free on my phone (no kanji input though :)
This is very good for English learners of Japanese.
You draw the kanji/kana in the box(es) and then tap on the word in the list (or press "A"). (Kanji stroke order needs to be correct, not perfect, as it guesses what you mean). There are so few buttons just try them to see what happens. If still confused copy the kanji into the boxes and look it up.

It does not speak the Japanese words or kanji.
It does pronounce the kana as you write them.
