60 second book review of The Magic of Recluce by L.E. Modesitt, Jr.

Update:: Just finished reading the book for the third of fourth time. I think it could have used one more read through by either the author or an editor, and the ending was quite unsatisfactory. No wonder I never remember this book. Everything about it screams that it was too rushed, and way more attention was given to the plot than to the characters or writing.

Tried reading the second book in the series and it was terrible. Going to try and press through to see if it gets any better.

Cool, I agree not the best written book in the world, despite his average writing in general Modesitt is still my favorite author. I didn't think the dialog was too repetitive, but there definitely was a lot of it, meanwhile the descriptions were very limited.
