In a crucial act of defiance, the Zimbabwean Government recently denied the Group-of-Elders, entry into the country. They were supposed to be on a humanitarian mission, to investigate food-shortages; disease and poverty.
At the last minute, they were told they weren't welcome and their Visas were revoked. But that hasn't stopped Kofi Annan; Jimmy Carter and Graca Machel, from investigating the situation in Zimbabwe.
After meetings with opposition leaders and Donors, they uncovered a severe situation, that regional leaders have ignored. They insist they don't want to interfere in Powersharing Talks. But they say they want the world, to know the shocking story that is Zimbabwe.
CNBC Africa's Lerato Mbele spoke to the former Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan, who is leading the Elder's Mission.
