Have you tried running it with coolant? I read a Greenleaf pamphlet on their WG-300 whisker reinforced ceramics and they said to run flood coolant on it. Maybe for no other reason than to keep the part and holder cool for size/tolerance control. Thanks for posting!

They're quite reasonably priced. Holder was $160 I think and inserts are $17ish a pop. Round inserts, so you may get 5 or 6 rotations out of them.

It sure as hell does. It gets hot right up through the taper. But, I guess that's the nature of the beast...
