Let me guess, throwing your gun as a distraction is a bad idea?

Great Video! An old trick in Texas is.. pull copenhagen out of mouth while reaching for concealed gun, as you throw copenhagen in the attacker's face draw handgun. Next thing they know you have the upper hand and they have a face full of snuff!! I can hit a target with my snuff at 10ft. Snuff can works as well if you don't have a nice wet, juicy dip in already. haha.

The "hole" is the distance between you and the attacker measured by your outstretched fingertips touching his, mainly a six foot space between both of you. If you have to throw something at him then you are outside the hole, and if you extend your arm, like you did, to throw whatever object then you just placed yourself inside the hole. So, if one marks their attacker at the distance you showed then a simple 45o side step and a weapon draw will conquer the situation.

in a previous part you said that while you reach for your pistol you look back to see what's behind you at 45 degrees to have an idea if there's any obstacle on where you are going to move to not fall, but now you don't look back. you just grab your pistol and run

You lost me at hand sanitizer.

Does anyone know the name of the song used in the intro video?

@Wingman813 Well lets think critically here. I realize your post is 4mths old. What does a robber want.....?....your valuables. If he has picked you out as a "mark" for a mugging he probably is not assuming your armed. Most criminals prefer unarmed victims. So the use of your wallet as a distraction and hell, throw your watch at his feet. Say "here i dont want any trouble, you win, take it" and simply drop the items on the ground. When he goes to collect his spoils you have a moment to act.

I appreciate the videos, but it's a little too complex for me. I'm just gonna do what worked in Iraq:
1- Return fire
2. Take cover
3. Return more accurized fire
4. Smoke cigarette.

I read the comments “ well I would do it different,” bla,bla bla. I personally want to thank you for your time what works for one may not work for another. What some of these people need to do instead of running there mouth with criticism need to stop and think what can be used if not all of it. Yes this technique of throwing something like you wallet to the ground and make him get it and that will give you time to draw.

I don't believe in this tactic. It is one of those self-defense things that sounds all good on paper and in practice, but when the moment arises, it may not work. Hell, what if the bad guy already has a gun on you. I mean, if someone has a gun, they are going to have it on you, ask you for your wallet to create fear and make you subdue. Poor tactic in my opinion.
I get the concept of what he's saying, yet the actual application isn't sound. The distance in with he's referencing is outside the "hole", hence if you CCW then you're good to draw your weapon.

@dunecigar I would like to hear more about why the application isn't sound. Please enlighten me.

Sure you need more than I was in fear for my life. You can't just go around shooting everyone because you are afraid of them. Laws vary from state to state too. So keep that in mind. I am NOT an attorney!

First of all, you shouldn't say anything to the police until your attorney is present and you have had a nights rest! Is throwing a distraction going to kill the bad guy? I don't think so. Key words... I WAS IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE! Why didn't you just run away? Because I was afraid they would shoot or pursue me so I gave them something to think about.
