Mich wundert, dass die Pianistin sehr wenige Körperbewegungen macht! - Und trotzdem ist ihr kraftvoller Anschlag und zugleich ihre wunderbare Leichtfüßigkeit unüberhörbar! -

I love this movement (and the whole concerto!)- it's so humorous and exuberant. And Argerich's performance literally makes me want to laugh out loud in some places. Thanks for uploading!

See my other post. Beethoven had a Broadwood from probably 1796 and surely from 1804. The Pianoforte was very modern in its feel, tone, volume. The dampers were inadequate and had to be accounted for. I've played one.

During Beethoven's time, when the modern didn't exist yet, this was played on a fortepiano. It sounds just as glorious. Martha makes this piece sound like Ludwig himself performed it on its debut on the modern piano.
Anyway , this tempo is fantastically fast and the contrasts and shifts of mood she brings to it r a s always fabulous MARTHA!!!
