i'm deeply amused by the deeply offended here

So many people defending dangerous driving. Americans would rather fight for their right to drive anyway they see fit as long as it does not inconvenience their selfish lifestyles, rather than step back and consume the big picture long enough to correct their bad habits voluntarily.
Cell phones are a grossly abused luxury. If long term abuse continues, laws will ensue. Then sheeple will blame it on BIG BROTHER for creating the laws against driving/cell phone use. Wake up addicts!

Is this for real???????? Whaaaaaaaattttt Im........that is crazy!

What's your reasoning?
It may be the law that abortion is a fun, interesting or moral action to participate in but simply saying it's legal doesn't make it any of those things.
-
Not illegal in Massachusetts.
It's not a problem here because people are too distracted by their own latte sipping, cell phone texting and self adoration in the rear view mirror behavior to notice anything outside of their car.

@larkydozer I am passionate AGAINST these memorials. In Alabama, the law clearly states that NOTHING is legal placed in right of waysbe that county, city or state property. Whether a sign for a home for sale, a small business or roadside memorial. Politicians side-step the memorial issue, not wanting to hurt potential voters. Our governor has spoken and the memorials are being taken down routinely with roadside maintenance. In Montgomery, AL, one erected by a mother, who was grieving

@larkydozer But she took her life in hand & put drivers at risk when she went to sit by the memorial to grieve/add trinkets, etc. I am sorry anybody has to lose a loved one, but the person who dies on a road, or at an intersection is NOT there. They are wherever your spiritual beliefs take you. And for that, services are held in churches, funeral homes, etc., and bodies disposed of. To put these tacky looking, often unattended ILLEGAL things up needs to stop.
-
@larkydozer Such memorials, beyond a reasonable amount of time (I still say 30 days) should move on with their grief. It may seem insensitive; however, if there is a law, it needs to be obeyed. Another point of view is the deceased familys rights. THEY HAVE NONE
-
Some states actually have little memorial markers that can be placed to honor a person killed on right of ways. That seems like a nice gesture. It's flat and does not detract from the area/interfere with line of sight traffic. But bottom line, roadside memorials just don't belong there. Get active, do something positive for the loved one you lost. But whining about it because YOUR RIGHTS have been violated is nonsense

"Roadside memorials have no place there. They don't have a right; cemetaries provide this service "
I'm not sure I understand you.
Are you saying that there is a law against erecting these temporary memorials?
Your comment about the cemetery providing "this service" really isn't compelling. That fact isn't a reasoned legal opinion about what it is you're claiming about rights.
Each state has its own policy.
if this is supposed to be funny or ironic, the creator doesn't know funny or ironic.

Dear Coffeemaniac. Thank you for your post. Would you mind clarifying? We are considering non-crusifix crosses for the Islam population, and would not want to accidentally offend. Drive safely.
