November 17, 2010 - Nick Melosh, Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford, discusses an innovative approach under development in his laboratory to implement combined cycle solar electricity generation using photon enhanced thermionic emission as a way to capture both the spectral and heat components of solar energy and achieve higher conversion efficiencies than standard thermal or photovoltaic processes alone.
