Senator Mark Warner was scheduled to speak at an event at the Library Of Congress in Culpeper, VA. He was just 10m away when the building had to be evacuated as a 5.9 earthquake hit central Virginia. Senator Warner greeted the crowd in the parking lot and was welcomed by Greg Lukow Chief of the facility. Everyone was relieved that no one was injured and after security had checked for structural damage so staff quickly reentered and inspected the 80 miles of shelving holding the 4 million items in the collections before we were sent home for the day.
