they are expensive because of the machining and specialized equipment that is used to build/create them. With 3D printing the price can be different - a bit like old style cutting tools vs. high speed laser cutters for metal.

They're saying that this technology's way better because of the material type of printing. I think that if they are going to print stuff they'll do it with materials that's worth it, I wouldn't use plastic if there's lots of simple laser printers that do that work. That's what I meant.

actually they can do that now without bothering to 3d print. just use some stem cells to grow into a leg haunch or ribs or whatever.

like the movie 'The Island' but without actually having to grow the whole thing like they claimed. (which was ridiculous and contrived for giving the movie a mediocre story)

doesn't stop the vegans though :( fucking vegans.
