Bob Dole was a fine Republican but horrible Candidate for President. Parole on the Federal Level was restricted to the Federal Level not telling all states they couldn't release people on Parole.

Bob Dole was a true fiscal conservative, and a social moderate. He never motivated the right-wing of the GOP.

Republicans and conservatives have parted ways with the coming of Bush, but they truly did push for fiscal responsibility back then in 1996.

Reagan added tot he debt because at the time thats what he needed to do to combat the russians and cut inflation in half
