The road up to the top of Whiteface Mountain near Lake Placid NY is like this as well.
They close the road just before the first big snowfall and don't open it again until the end of March or so.

now thats a snowblower ! love to see them in action never been up close to see one work ! i love the snow and would shovel all the time when it snow back home in upstate ny but i live in west central Ga now , we had a bad winter here in ga alot of snow and cold azz rain this winter.

Only for a few months! The North Cascades Highway is a beautiful scenic highway in Washington State, which is usually closed from November through April. There are several roads in Washington which are closed every year due to heavy snow. But it still is worth it to fuel those snow blowers up several times a day to open the roads.
