  • HERES HOW I GOT AHOLD OF THIS IN THE MID SIXTYS I SAY A TV SHOW - ALVENO RAY PLAYED GUITAR BOOGIE ON A STRAT SLOPY ! SO I WENT INTO HARTFORD CT TO A MUSIC SHOP

" MELODY MUSIC I MAY HAVE ORDERED IT I CANT REMEMBER - BUT ITS IN MY ATTIC AND THE COPY WRITE ON IT IS 191 THIS LORE IS ON THE NET SOMEWHERE TOO -

  • @rymeandreason : 1941 ? Sounds good to me. I believe Arthur Smith recorded GUITAR BOOGIE a few different times & I'm not entirely sure if 1948 is the correct date for this particular version of the song, though a version was recorded in 1948.

  • Arthur Smith is one of music's (and media's) most overlooked and underrated people. His musical skills helped many a musician, his TV show was one of the first in the US to have country music on TV, and he was also an excellent producer, businessman (won a huge lawsuit over "Dueling Banjos" in the film "Deliverance), sportsman, and Christian. Arthur "Guitar Boggie" Smith needs to be in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

  • @MrJayBBluejay : I agree 100%

  • It has been umpteem years since I last heard Aurthur Smith playing. I remember all his boogies but Guitar Boogie beats them all. I remember Guitar and Piano Boogie but I can't seem to hear it again.
